This, according to the author, may be due to the fact that the concept could never be fully integrated into a coherent economic theory, except for a brief period of Schumpeterian synthesis. And in recent years, when the development of entrepreneurship, rather than explaining it, has become the prime concern, the concept has virtually disappeared from economic theory.
