However the potential that this industry enjoys could not be capitalized fully, for being faced with some serious constraints and challenges and as such this paper aimed to analyse the barriers in the path of growth and development of this industry of the state and suggest measures, as how to overcome them. The study has been conducted on a sample of 55 cricket bat manufacturing units of Kashmir. The analysis of the primary data has been has been done with the help of mean scores to assess the severity of these barriers and factor analysis to group them. The study has identified six barriers with the help of relevant tools and techniques namely Infrastructural and Administrative,Financial, Technological, Raw Material, Market and Production Constraint.
