It is based on an empirical study of opinion of people about SMEs from Bhopal city. It takes the perspective of not only the managers who are running SMEs but also of student's, researches and academician's of field of entrepreneurship and Small and Medium scale industrial sector. The dimensions for innovativeness adopted for study are: People who had knowledge of the theme were only surveyed as they are the ones who will be bringing in the change in this sector. So, lay man's opinion is not taken into consideration. The Study reveals that: the entrepreneurial activities were mostly undertaken by trading and financial classes. The supply of entrepreneurs from business communities remained unabated. Some families exist in the field of entrepreneurship while new-comers generally fail and do not try to take the initiative again.
