It depends on the production of paddy. India is the second largest producer of paddy in the world with the production of about 120 million tons per annum, with a steady growth in population and per captia income; Indian per captia consumption of rice has been growing steadily. On the other hand the industry has to cope with pressing demand for production of required quantity of rice to reduce dependency on imports of rice to save the valuable currency. The rice millers have a pre dominant role in the development of agriculture. They also help the government of India to earn foreign currency with exports of different varieties of rice. The present study Problems and prospects of rice mills analyses the problems which are faced by millers in Guntur district. The present study is of significant help rice millers, farmers, government and others.
