<br/><br/> This paper presents some of the early results of an international research project conducted in Italy and coordinated by Prof. Miguel Angel Gallo. The research project involved Spain, Portugal, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, and the U.S. The authors of this paper are responsible for the Italian part of the project. The project aims to further the understanding of the role of the board of directors in family businesses, and how the  board functions.
