N2  - The primary objective of this paper is to present the summary of guidelines issued by the UGC on the adoption of CBCS by universities for their UG and PG programms.  However, the guidelines issued by the UGC are silent on some of the important aspects of CBCS such as (a) credit transfer, (b) programm-wise, semester-wise and course-wise min-max credits, (c) classification of students based on their CGPA into few categories, etc. Hence, this paper makes an attempt to provide a comprehensive structure of CBCS with additional details wherever necessary
