Entrepreneurship in Baja California: Creation and Development of Microenterprises

<br/><br/> This paper analyzes the factors that influence the process of creation and development of a group of microenterprise of the state of Baja California, Mexico. This with the purpose of identifying types of entrepreneurship and performance characteristics that facilitates the  design of strategies for microenterprise development. It highlights the economic conditions in the region as a factor that stimulates the start-up of microenterprises and the effect of the educational level these microentrepreneurs have with the opportunity of consolidating their business projects. It is noted that the implementation of microenterprises is seen as a necessity not an opportunity. In terms of development of entrepreneurship,we found thatmicroenterprises are more likely to survive when microentrepreneurs have basic education levels, are married and their microenterprise as the main source of household income.
