dc.description.abstract | Women all over the world play important roles in the social, economy and political life of any nation. The relationship between women’s access to the benefits of development, the existence of patriarchal structures and ideology, and the emancipation or subordination of women is particularly difficult to assess all over the world. There is a limited study that specifically examines the impact of patriarchal structures and decision making which have influenced women entrepreneurs in a different way. This study therefore attempts to bring to light the patriarchal practices within the context of national culture that affect women entrepreneurs in developing countries. Previous studies and other secondary sources were thoroughly reviewed and analyzed. Findings indicate self-decision making and patriarchy play an important role in entrepreneurship development and how women entrepreneurs are perceived and valued. Therefore this paper emphasize the impact of patriarchal practices, decision making and the changing trends in patriarchy on two different village organizations(VOs – which consists of 30-35 Self Help Groups each). Particularly the differences within the context of patriarchal practices on these VOs in the specific geographical area like Warangal of Telangana State, and their journey into entrepreneurial activities. | en_US |
