Abstract: India is a male dominated country. As compared to men, women are less encouraged to do business activities, having more fear and other barriers. Development of Women Entrepreneurship is very low in India. Till today, women in India are struggling to get equal rights and finding their opportunities in different sectors of business. There are some major problems faced by women entrepreneurs in India are transportation, lack of concentration on business, financial support/assistance, Marketing Knowledge, Social security, lack of education, operating problems and less awareness of government assistance to change the scenario of the women entrepreneurs. These problems and challenges are restricting the women entrepreneurs in establishing and expansion of business. The purpose of this research paper is to examine the different challenges faced by the women entrepreneurs and opportunities available to setup business organization in Davangere City. Canteens, Tailoring and Beauty Parlors targeted for carrying the research work. Primary data is collected through face to face interaction of 90 women entrepreneurs by providing the structured and close ended questionnaire. The Likert’s five point scale is used to examine the challenges and opportunities of women entrepreneurs. Appropriate statistical tools used to analyze the data.
