Abstract: | This article explores the effects of new technology introduction through detailed case studies of two bottle production units in Taiwan. Based on the insights from these, it develops a few propositions to establish the links between an effective technology strategy and business structure/environment, human resource management and technology providers. The article suggests that in order for small firms to survive in a highly competitive market, they must look inwards and integrate the available physical and human resources with the environment. |
