Abstract: In the twenty-first century, Indian agriculture has moved beyond self-sufficiency and it is globally oriented “industry” with inter-sectoral linkages. Agriculture has become technology- and market-oriented agribusiness. Supply chains forms the important part of these agribusinesses. In spite of modern technologies and policy support, the supply chains of existing agribusinesses face various challenges and bottlenecks. These bottlenecks are keeping the agribusinesses away from utilizing their full potential and therefore keeping millions of people associated with them in a lower income horizon.
