Abstract: Increasing impetus on innovation and entrepreneurship for the sustainable growth of economies has resulted in motivating young individuals to pursue entrepreneurship as a career. Despite the increased scholarly focus, existing research highlights major gaps in understanding how gender-specific factors influence the translation of individual’s entrepreneurial intentions into concrete actions. Existing research finds that a supportive or not-supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem and parents’ occupation as entrepreneurs also can greatly influence individuals' entrepreneurial intentions and actions. Therefore, this empirical study examines the effect of gender on individuals' entrepreneurial intentions and actions and also looks into influencing role of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in this mechanism.
