Abstract: | South Africa in the apartheid era posed considerable challenges to non-white entrepreneurs, including Indians. However, there were a few who could successfully tide over the difficult years. This paper focuses on them. After examining their dominant motives and start-up problems, the study foresees certain new challenges unleashed by the emerging political situation and urges the Indian small business owners to upgrade their skills to be able to meet them. |
