Abstract: | The methods used to gauge the performance of large companies may not be relevant to assess the success strategies of small enterprises. Researchers differ a great deal in this respect. Collating a number of research studies cutting across several countries, the authors of this paper have attempted to develop a framework, centred around three classifications of strategies: firm characteristics, firm competencies, and growth strategies. |
