Title: The Entrepreneur in Economic Thought: A Thematic Overview
Authors: Gopakumar, K
Keywords: Entrepreneurship
Issue Date: Mar-1995
Publisher: Sage Publications
Abstract: Even though the term ’entrepreneur’ originated and gained currency as part of economic theory, today it is very often used in a loose, generic sense. This, according to the author, may be due to the fact that the concept could never be fully integrated into a coherent economic theory, except for a brief period of Schumpetarian synthesis. And in recent years, when the development of entrepreneurship, rather than explaining it, has become the prime concern, the concept has virtually disappeared from economic theory.
