Abstract: The availability of raw material is one of the factors of enhancing the entrepreneurial activities. The challenge is to identify the market for the consumption of the produce and the right set of procedures along with technology to enhance the value of the raw material. India is blessed with natural endowment. These endowments require the value enhancement to improve the life of the people. It requires the right combination of material, finance, technology/machine and an entrepreneurial acumen. The right preposition of the material, finance, technology/machine and entrepreneurship provides for growth of the state’s economy. Jammu and Kashmir has a long history of the best of the produce available such as for aromatic plants, edibles, fruits, husbandry, and precious stones etc. The scenic beauty and landscape as well as the shrines such as Mata Vaishno Devi, Amarnath, Baba Gulam Shah, Hazratbal, etc. provide an opportunity for a tourism opportunity for the state. However the state has not been able to capitalize on the resources as well as opportunities. Once of the reasons can be attributed to the disturbed status of the state for more than a decade. The paper describes the case of Trikuta Agro Products Pvt. Ltd. in the context of value enhancement with the efficient use of natural endowments. The case provides an insight how the market opportunity can be gauged to create a profitable venture.
