Abstract: The main objective of this investigation is to classify the challenges and opportunities for an edupreneur (an entrepreneur in education sector) in the Engineering educational sector to be engaged and resolved. The case of one of the reputed engineering institution at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India was studied and analyzed. Extensive feedback and their aspiration reference points were documented from all the stack holders of this educational enterprise. We are juxtaposing and contextualizing the case in hand with new Indian reality, emerging world order and irresistible global market place. Views of some educationists in the field of engineering education were also sought to gain more insight into the issue. It was observed that the challenges and opportunities that institutions face at different stages of growth considerably varies and the way such challenges would be met decides success and reputation of the organization. This paper attempts to be a guideline for edupreneurs and is of much relevance to those entrepreneurs who venture into the field of higher education.
