Abstract: Entrepreneurship has been acknowledged as one of the essential dynamic factors determining socio-economic growth of any country, because it increases employment, efficiency, productivity, GNP, PCI and standard of living. It is said that "Wo-man is the best man for overall development of the country," yet total share of women entrepreneur is very less in India [(8%), Maharashtra (14%)]. As female can accept the challenges of corporate sector and mitigate them very well and play a positive role in overall development of the region. North Maharashtra has proved the positive role of female entrepreneurs in the development e.g. Deepak Industries. The data on entrepreneurship, reveals that female entrepreneurs have created maximum employment opportunities, increased GDP, PCI and standard of living. We can motivate of females towards entrepreneurship through Business Schools, Street plays, NGO's, DIC's and various Government Development Programmes in the region. This paper is based on the main objective i.e. to analyze the factors that contribute to the positive role of female entrepreneurs in the development and to suggest the measures to wipe-out hurdles in the prospects of the career of the female entrepreneurs.
