Management institution development is the precursor to nation building. The purpose of the present Paper is to investigate the changes (if any) in the value orientation of the educational entrepreneurs in management education vis-à-vis the evolution of management education in modern India. The exploratory research design of the present work leads to the methodology based on content analysis of the existing literature on the topic ,analysis of the vision, mission and policy statements of a sample of management institutes and that of the concerned industry associations, international agencies and government ministries. We follow a simple stratified random sampling to select a representative sample, the stratification is based on the ranking of management institutes by some established agencies. Our findings are that there has been clear shift albeit non-uniform across organizational levels in the cardinal values that are associated by the management educational entrepreneurs promoted by policy changes in government and international agencies. The limitation of the study is based on the sample size which may not be sufficiently representative enough to bring out a generalized estimation on the population but may be taken as an indicative one. The key implication of the work is the identification of shifts and re-shifts in the value orientation with consequential effects on the results in operation and exploration of the trends and directions in which the behemoth is heading.en_US
