Abstract: Women who constitute nearly 50% of our country's population and who have been contributing enormously towards the economic development of the nation cannot be ignored the way they have been since ages. It has been realized that widespread poverty and stunted economic growth cannot be rectified unless one provides gainful employment to the poor and since women again form a considerable percentage of the section, it is the women who are the focus of attention here too. In the present study an attempt has been made to study Women Entrepreneurs in the state of Goa. So far no much study has been undertaken about the women entrepreneurs of Goa State, and it is the reason behind the selection of this topic for research. Hence, it would be an important contribution to the existing knowledge about Women Entrepreneurs. This study would help in planning and organizing training programmes in entrepreneurship development. It would encourage more women to become entrepreneurs and economically independent. The paper examine and evaluate the growth and development of women entrepreneurs with different related aspects like education, marital status, age, obstacles, motivation etc. is the major objective of the study. The study is mainly based on primary data collected from women entrepreneurs from Goa. The primary data was mainly collected from questionnaire and casual discussions. A total number of 150 questionnaires had been distributed among the women respondents in the state of Goa. It was found that Women entrepreneurs are playing a positive role in the development of Goa. Further Women participation in many kinds of economic activities to complement to their family income, their participation in no way reduces their family duties. They are performing this role very boldly. Let us all help her rediscover herself.
