dc.description.abstract | Entrepreneurship has played an important role in the economic prosperity and social stability. In many developed countries. there is a general agreement that the attitude towards the entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial activity and its social function playa major role for the students to decide their entrepreneurial career. It measured perceptions and attitude of students towards creating their own business. The present study examined the relationship between emotional competence and entrepreneurial orientation on students from different business schools. A total sample of 180 students from different business schools were selected by uSing purposive sampling method. They were further divided into the groups of different family background; from business and service sectors and in terms of external support they received from either family or other funding agencies related to their current business and start-ups. Entrepreneurial Attitude Orientation scale (EAO) developed by llucfner. Hunt & Robinson (19%) and Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI) developed by Sala (LOOZa) were selected as tools for the study. The collected data was analysed by a 2xZx2: a three way ANOVA design using SPSS. The analysed data revealed that for all the three groups, significant differences were observed between students related to the factor of inclination towards their business. Scores on the 1·:,\0 scale revealed that students who have family business background were found to be slgnlfic.lntly differing in the dimensions of achievement in business, innovation in business and pcrcc: -ed control of business outC011lCS. Whereas students who have service sector as the background \',Cll' significantly differed in innovation in business, perceived control of business outcomes ,IIHI perceived self-esteem in business. No significant differences were found related to the gender of the students and their willingness to either start something of their own or to work in tlus field. The analysed scores of Eel scale revealed that no significant differences were observed between the gender of the students and their willingness to start a business or assist family in their current business, For the factor of entrepreneurial inclination, significant differences were observed between social awareness and social skills for both male and female students. | en_US |
