Abstract

At the outset, generally we assume that the women entrepreneurs are those who establish the units with manufacturing of Papads, Pickles and other home made products. But Proprietor of Poojar Process is an Aluminium Name Plates manufacturing unit which is purely a technical based unit. Smt. A.G.Nagarathna has started this unit with the initial capital of Rs.5 lacs now their turnover has been reached upto Rs. 1.80 crores. Proprietor A.G. Nagrathna was married Mr. Ganesh during 1982, during the childhood days itself she has started the business in their home after the death of his father gradually this activity has of balancing the income and expenditure of their business and family made them an entrepreneur. After the marriage, both husband and wife were set up their home in a small rented house in Devarj Urs Layout and there itself they have started the Aluminum Name Plate manufacturing enterprise. Hitherto the company has supplied their products indirectly to the various countries like Germany, Russia, Japan and England but now the company has certified by ISO-9001:2000 now they are supplying their products directly to the various countries said by Mr.Ganesh. Mr.Ganesh is an husband of A.G.Nagrathna he is an basically an engineer and he has opened the two companies before the marriage but unfortunately they were closed now Mr.Ganesh is the General Manager of the Poojar Process based on his experiences he said that through the Globalization policy the company has got more demand in national and international especially in machine tools. This paper however focuses on the entrepreneurial history of a very enterprising and hard working entrepreneur.
