Abstract: Eco-entrepreneurship is fully dependent on the endowment of natural resources in a particular area. Assam is covered by lush green beautiful forests with many of endangered wildlife and a place of unification where many ethnic groups are living with their age-old colourful cultures, languages and spiritual practices. These excellent combinations of cultural heritage and natural environment have given Assam tremendous opportunity to grow Ecological Entrepreneurship. This paper makes an attempt to highlight a few Eco-entrepreneurial activities practiced in the state of Assam. It would discuss the impact of nature on building an entrepreneurial class who live in the periphery of the protected forest areas like National Parks (NP), Wildlife Sanctuaries (WS) and Reserved Forests (RF). It would also see how one can exercise the dual process of preserving forests along with creation of an entrepreneurial venture. Further, it will also suggest measures for sustainable growth in the underdeveloped areas like the North-East for un-interrupted entrepreneurial activities.
