dc.description.abstractCassava starch is extensively used in the textile and paper industries and also to make cassava dextrin. Dextrin is well suited for use as an adhesive for postage and other stamps, gummed envelopes, tape, stickers, etc. It is also used in laundries and for the manufacture of plywood and veneer adhesives. Small quantities are turned into plastics that largely consist of starch acetate. Because of its low protein content cassava starch is exceptionally well suited to be processed into glucose or for the production of 'pearl tapioca' (pearl sago).en_US
