Abstract: | By comparison with other media of communication, the written or printed word is a uniquely independent conveyor of culture, opinion, and information, as the content is not influenced by any advertiser or sponsor, and its physical production requires a relatively low capital investment only. When a printed product consists of several pages, it has to be bound and finished in some way. Apart from the development of today's printing procedures, automatic bookbinding is the basis of a modern and cost-saving print-media landscape. |
