The production of lipsticks was until a few years ago one of the more complicated techniques in the cosmetic industry. Manufacturing methods have been improved considerably. The development of the casting system and the introduction of the corundum stone mill for the preparation of colour pigments have contributed to simplifying and economizing the production process. Moreover the traditional method of premixing pigments with a kneadermixer and then grinding them on a triple roller mill did not sufficiently guarantee the dispersion of the colour in the past.en_US
