Abstract

I. Product and Us uses Since our country became independent, we have made rapid progress in almost all the fields. Agriculture is one of the occupations on which about 70% of our population is dependent. It also contributes the maximum to our economy. On this point also we have made tremendous progress under 'Green Revolution'. Our gross agricultural out-put has almost doubled in the past 15 years and now we are one of grain surplus Nations of the world. All this has been possible because of changeover from traditional farming methods to modern mechanised farming using, different types of agricultural machinery, chemicals, fertilisers, insecticides, pesticides and use of electric and oil power for irrigation
