Abstract: I. Product and its uses The signal and hand Lamps are used as communication equipments for visual signs in Railways, Naval and Merchant Docks, etc. These lamps consist of a cylindrical tank portion for storing the kerosene oil. A wick burns and lights the lamp. Often we see such lamps on railways stations with train guards and linement, The signal lamp can be seen on the railway signals. II. Market Potential These lamps are exclusively purchased by establishments like Railways, Naval and Merchant Docks. Hence an entrepreneur has to undertake an initial market survey by contactmg those departments in his area of operation and ascertain the quantity and specific designs required. After acquiring this information, decision can be taken to establish the unit. This scheme is drawn up on a basis with machinery suitable for sheet metal working.
