Abstract: The aim of this exploratory paper is to present a brief over view of the literature from feminist epistemology on gender and entrepreneurship. As a point of departure, this paper explores the multi-faceted phenomenon of entrepreneurship as seen through the feminist stances. Though there are a diverse range of feminist perspectives on entrepreneurship, this paper attempts to understand how feminist literature have provided evidence that the prevalent conception of entrepreneurship may not be universal and degendered as presumed. Also, the literature is explored to see how the women’s lived experiences have been ignored in the conceptualisation of entrepreneurship. Further, the paper seeks to understand how inclusion of women’s experiences can change the core and prevalent understanding of entrepreneurship.
