dc.description.abstract | The main aim of this study is to confirm whether Entrepreneurial Intention models explain the entrepreneurial phenomenon when applied to India. We have tested the Ajzen’s theory of planned behavior framework for Entrepreneurial Intention in Indian setting. Data have been collected by administering Entrepreneurial Intention Questionnaire among the students of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. The paper employs a linear regression model to examine the determinants of Entrepreneurial Intention. Results obtained partially support the Theory of Planned Behavior. The constructs Social Norms found to be insignificant in predicting Entrepreneurial Intention. Moreover, Perceived Behavioral Control explains more variance than Personal Attitude i.e., India has a less munificent environment for entrepreneurs than other nations. This is one of the first studies to provide evidence for Entrepreneurial Intention models in India based on the Theory of Planned Behavior framework. In addition, it checks the robustness of the Theory of Planned Behavior in explaining Entrepreneurial Intention in India. | en_US |
