Amid the variegated, but connected meanings of entrepreneurship, stands its identity as a key component of development. The mainstream conceptions in economics regard entrepreneurship as a factor which organises other factors in the production systems. However, within the dynamic field of development, entrepreneurship shifts to wider conceptual and operational planes, where it gets integrated into the fold of human development, not only as an attitude, but also as an expression of individual power to overcome structural constraints. Despite its compatibility in the theoretical and practical ambit of human development, entrepreneurship is relatively a less explored constituent. The conceptual underpinnings of human agency, with its basic form a as an expression of the extent to which one has an influence on the choices and directions of his life, can be extended as a perspective for locating the configuration of entrepreneurship as human agency. This paper is directed towards the objective of conceptualising entrepreneurship as human agency, along theoretical lines.en_US
