dc.description.abstract | Entrepreneurship involves the creation of innovative organizations. Green Entrepreneurs use opportunities, and start business for sustainable development which is usually structure transforming, devoted for a social cause, utilizing advanced technology; its product/service is generally based on eco-friendly process and is an Environmental product (Walley & Taylor, 2002). Green Entrepreneurship is thus primarily a business that uses a new innovation basically to address a societal problem and solve it completely or up to a certain extent whilst taking care that it is not harmful to environment. The primary aim of such a business is not just profit but alleviation of a social or community problem. In India, quite a few people are going in for green entrepreneurial ventures. Such enterprises not only try to solve social problems in an environment friendly manner but also manage to create sustenance opportunities for many. They are also capable of creating employment opportunities and contributing to the nation’s economy. The paper seeks to study the green entrepreneurial ventures in India. It seeks to find out the opportunities and challenges faced by such ventures as also how they contribute towards a sustainable social system. The research methodology employed is firstly primary research wherein an entrepreneur venturing into such an enterprises has been interviewed. The researchers have decided to focus on one entrepreneurial venture namely Bee Basket Pvt. Ltd as a case study. The paper also makes use of secondary sources of information. The limitation of the paper is that the researchers have restricted themselves to one Pune based city entrepreneur though their secondary research will include enterprises all over India. | en_US |
