Abstract: In India, government has undertaken many projects for the upliftment of backward class. “Padhar” is a race falls under Schedule Tribe group, mainly found in Surendranagar and Himmatnagar districts of Gujarat state. Due to less literacy ratio and inequalities with other races in same group, people belong to this race haven’t groomed much compare to the others. Government has identified this problem and has designed few schemes which are especially for the people who belong to “Padhar” race. In this paper, researcher has identified few schemes of government which are dedicatedly for “Padhar” race and what changes these scheme have brought to these people.
