Laos has a tradition of eating beef, pork and chicken. To support this traditional meal preference, each household, especially in the villages rears, the necessary cattle and poultry for the same. However, there is no professional rearing of cattle .and poultry for commercial business. But demands of urban residence and need for ;hygienic consumption of meat and poultry coupled with regular occurrence of .dlsease outbreaks like mad cow's disease, bird flu etc has made it very necessary to rear these animals in a controlled environment. This has also ensured that there will !be a sufficient and growing demand for cattle food and poultry feed in Laos. This is a low cost high returns project to meet these needsen_US
