Abstract: | ------- Radio, which is usually owned by almost every home, is just not a medium to: provide information but for entertainment too. Radio, in today's world, is the: cheapest medium of entertainment and information. The field of radio has achieved: ia remarkable growth. As an education medium it is quite useful for every age group. ! IThiSis the only form of mass information and education to the rural massesin Laos.i IThis is mainly because there is hardly any information going out though newspapersi lor television. These are restricted to urban centres only. In the cities though there: ,wasa declining trend for radios, which has been resurrected with advent of FMradle istations. Radio is a cheap and effective way of entertainment for rural folk as cheap 'batteries are available in plenty. However, there is no manufacturing of radios in Laos and all the radios sold are being imported from neighboring countries. The: . !technology is very simple and easy to duplicate. There is a good potential for: iproduction and marketlnq radios especiallywith multiple frequencies. |
