Entrepreneurship is a buzzword, considered indispensable in modern era. It has emerged as a powerful alternative to the burgeoning unemployment problem, crippling the Indian sub-continent. However entrepreneurship is complementary to entrepreneurship training, commonly termed as EDP (Entrepreneurship Development Programme), imparted and sponsored by leading financial institutions in India. On the other hand, field studies have proved the domination of women in micro-enterprises, in select areas in the state of Assam. In this perspective the paper attempts to study the efficacy of the training issues and its correctationship with the establishment of micro-enterprises, reiterating the gender sensitive and specific issue.en_US
