dc.description.abstractThis paper analyzes the factors that influence the process of creation and development of a group of micro enterprise of the state of Baja California, Mexico. This with the purpose of identifying types of entrepreneurship and performance characteristics that facilitates the design of strategies for micro enterprise development. It highlights the economic conditions in the region as a factor that stimulates the start-up of micro enterprises and the effect of the educational level these micro entrepreneurs have with the opportunity of consolidating their business projects. It is noted that the implementation of micro enterprises is seen as a necessity not an opportunity. In terms of development of entrepreneurship,we found that micro enterprises are more likely to survive when micro entrepreneurs have basic education levels, are married and their micro enterprise as the main source of household income.en_US
