dc.description.abstract | Entrepreneurship emerges from an individual’s creative spirit giving a sense of differentiation, the ‘entrepreneurial nuances’ are referred to the aspect of thinking, a mindset which underlies practicing entrepreneurship. The present study was conducted to understand the effect of organization citizenship behavior and quality of work life among women as entrepreneurs or designated in the managerial profile and deploying dual managerial and intrapreneurial roles. A representative sample of 480 women professionals were equally distributed using quasi-experimental sampling technique {(a) nature of employment (entrepreneurs, N=120; intrapreneurs, N=120)} and {(b) enterprises (medium, N=120; large, N=120)}. Organization Citizenship Behavior-Checklist (Paul & Suzy, 2009) and Quality of Worklife Scale (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, NIOSH,2002) were selected as tool for data collection. The collected data was statistically analyzed using ‘t’, unianova’, 2x2 factorial design with Post-hoc analysis. Findings indicated that organizational tenure favorably affects job attitudes viz. ‘job satisfaction’, ‘organizational commitment’ and ‘job involvement’. Further interaction with respondents gave insight that various issues have immerged due to professional pursuits, viz. insomnia, lack of consideration for own health, juggling between personal-professional life, dissatisfying work-life balance, negative displacement of anger among family members and children. On a positive side, a striking similarity of personality disposition viz. ‘internal locus of control’, ‘need for achievement’, ‘risk tolerance’, and ‘entrepreneurial alertness’ helped them to develop the entrepreneurial intention, where selection of career has also become their ‘lifestyle-by-products’. Academicians, researchers, policy-makers, potential entrepreneurs, organizational change managers, occupational therapists and research scholars will find this study useful. | en_US |
