Abstract: | The current scenarios of global economic developments have put forth newer challenges to every economy, and India is no exception. The traditional assets like cheap land and labour no more holds good and instead certain new categories of assets like workforce skills, access to capital and innovative activity have been shaping the economic prospects of late. In order to accelerate the pace of economic growth, it becomes imperative to tap such assets so as to better handle issues of lack of capital, unemployment, and entrepreneurship. This paper has focused on the role played by micro finance in generating livelihood by providing entrepreneurship opportunities, especially to women entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship can be a source of new job and can improve livelihood. Micro finance has helped in the creation of livelihood by providing adequate financial assets to the women entrepreneurs who were too poor to qualify for traditional bank loans. Secondary data along with supporting primary data were being adopted for collecting the requisite information for this study. The randomly selected 35 Self Help Groups were the sampling unit for the purpose of this research paper. Primary data has been collected by using schedules as the research instrument. |
