Abstract: India has emerged to be one of the fastest growing telecom markets in the world.ICT were introduced in India in 1990’s, since then it has grown in leaps and bounds supported by the government policies and programmes. In present times it has become critical element of success. Though times are changing but, Women in India are still facing large number of Social, Political and economic hurdles in establishing and running of their business ventures of their own. Therefore this study explores the potential of leveraging ICT by women entrepreneurs in India. It studies the support needs, accessibility issues, and usage and ownership patterns and lastly recommends the methods for utilizing ICT for Women entrepreneurship Development. The study provides the strategic directions and suggests various policy initiatives, programs and services to various stakeholders such as NGO’s, Government institutions and other social and private organizations on how to encourage and increase entrepreneurship among women through ICT usage
