Abstract

About EDII An acknowledged National Resource Institute for Entrepreneurship Education, Research, Training & Institution Building. Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), an autonomous and not-for-profit institute, set up in 1983, is sponsored by apex financial institutions - the IDBI Bank Ltd., IFCI Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd. and the State Bank of India (SBI). The Government of Gujarat pledged twenty-three acres of land on which stands the majestic and sprawling EDII campus. To pursue its mission, EDII has helped set up twelve state-level exclusive entrepreneurship development centres and institutes. Dear Students,

Inquisitive minds form easy moulds. And every startup has an inquisitive mind behind it - ready to experiment, ready to learn, ready to take risks.

The Indian entrepreneurship and startup scenario, is progressing phenomenally. A synergy between talent, funding support, proactive goverment policies and mentors have yielded an environment for entrepreneurship to germinate.

India has a multitude of successful startups. These and several others have grown on the premise of technology and other critical resources, and have made a notable contribution to the economy. I am happy that the Governmentnhas gone an extra mile to facilitate administrative ease, networking and incubation support, thus enabling start-ups to reflect their progress by multiplying job opportunities and investments.

Amidst such an encouraging scenario, gaining knowledge on entrepreneurial practices, systems and frameworks promotes creative thinking among potential entrepreneurs, readying them to embrace the discipline without any inhabition. I am sure the knowledge that you hain here will help you emerge as a successful entrepreneur.

The course Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Business Entrepreneurship is an application-oriented programme which ensures evolution of individuals into entrepreneurs.
