Abstract: | India has always had a rich culture of entrepreneurship which is evident from the number of family businesses that operated in pre-independence era and thrived over a period of four to five decades till the country gained its freedom. The creation of enterprises continued, albeit on a slower pace and confined to only few communities known primarily for their risk-taking abilities. |
