Abstract: This paper examines the preference shown by women entrepreneurs while locating their business. The study is based on primary data collected from 120 women entrepreneurs from state of Haryana. Three choices were given to women entrepreneurs and were asked to give rank to these three choices. Chi-square test has been used to find out the association between socio-economic variables and the preference of women entrepreneurs in location of their business. Analysis of data reveals that almost 50 per cent women entrepreneurs are managing their business from their homes and one third has taken the rented building. Preference of location further reveals that most of the women entrepreneurs want to operate their business near the market followed by their homes. It may be due to dual function they have to perform, lack of finance and socio -economic factors. But due to stringent rules and regulations they have to face problems while managing business at homes. Suitable arrangements to locate their business near the market can be more helpful to them. Government should make arrangements to provide plots/shops to the women entrepreneurs
