Abstract:
The objective of this study was to conduct a meta-review of the literature of the
field of Entrepreneurship and Strategy to derive the themes that exist in the recent
times. Ninety-four articles relevant to the area were taken from eight leading
peer-reviewed journals of the field and analysed, from which we defined several
themes, which when bound together, provide a comprehensive view of the
inclinations of researchers in this field. From this review, we come to understand
that four areas or themes are at the forefront of research, namely, entrepreneurial
entry, entrepreneurial exits, entrepreneurial spinouts and social entrepreneurship.
Second to these are areas like entrepreneurial finance and venture performance
evaluation. This meta-review hopes to provide future studies with the choice of
research themes to study as well as provide entrepreneurs a theoretical
prescription for their motivations.
