Abstract:
In India, state boards have been the mode to certify students in their respective
states. Every state has its certified board for higher and senior secondary
education like UP Board, MP Board, Bihar Board, Maharashtra Board, Gujarat
Board, and Karnatak Board, etc. CBSE board came with a vision on 3rd
November 1962. Education is an ongoing and continuously changing pathway,
where each day is a new day with different experiences and learning.
International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) yet another
system came into existence, which has been caressing the entrepreneurial spirit
within students. This board comes under the University of Cambridge U.K.
parallel with the existing curriculum. This curriculum imparts life skills and
values in students to make them a future-ready generation and has started gaining
traction in India. Twenty years ago, IGCSE became the most popular
international program for students aged 14-16 (Cambridge International
Education). Billabong High International School is one such school in Kanpur,
Uttar Pradesh, India, where IGCSE is in practice along with CBSE board. IGCSE
aims at creating the future-ready generation to create future entrepreneurs, where
the aim is to prepare students for volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous
(VUCA) situations, likely to be in future due to turbulent nature of environment in
business. IGCSE has an inventive curriculum and aims in bringing the
entrepreneurial spirit in the incumbent student in the longer run, thereby, making
them future ready entrepreneur.
