dc.description.abstract Women take up jobs which give them the prospect to seek a living. Through self-employment women stand to attain skills, confidence, recognition and high degree of satisfaction. Beauty Parlor business seems to be the best possible way for such self-employment of women. This business offers women both independences from arduous 9 to 5 job as well as ensure their privacy and economic freedom. This paper attempts to study the profile of women entrepreneurs in beauty parlor business. The data has been obtained from 54 selected beauty parlors from Goa, collected through scheduled questionnaire. It can be inferred from the study that beauty parlor is one important source of self employment. A trend can be seen that the number of beauty parlors is mushrooming; women entrepreneurs are taking advantage of the beauty consciousness among women. en_US
