This paper discusses the contribution of Entrepreneurship Training Programmes
of the iSTED Project at College of Food and Dairy Technology, Alamathi in the
success of several entrepreneurs in the state of Tamil Nadu. This programme
involves annual grants for Entrepreneurship development and the overall
objective is to identify, train and support young potential entrepreneurs in latest
technological methods. The segment wise contribution is the rise and shine of new
entrepreneurial ventures with respect to Product, Place, Price, Promotion,
People, Processes, Physical Evidence, Productivity and Quality with scientific
and field evidence. This paper discusses in length the entire training model
structured for training the beneficiaries on manufacturing of milk protein and
dietary fibre enriched noodles, millet ice cream, low fat and fiber enriched ice
creams, yoghurt drink, omega-3 enriched chocolates - coconut, chia seeds and
algal oil, development of miniature food processing equipment among other
things. These novel technologies in food and dairy processing are disseminated
through this programme transforming many small and micro enterprises through
professional training and support. The type of products chosen and the equipment
used are novel with the purpose of providing market differentiating options for the
potential entrepreneurs to raise above the competition in their formative years. It
discusses the various promotional activities undertaken by iSTED CFDT Project
to attract beneficiaries, the industry grade equipment used for training, expert
technological support extended in crucial areas of entrepreneurship such as
packaging the products and marketing them among many other things. |
