The micro, small and medium business sector plays an important role in promoting
entrepreneurial talent and the distribution of income and wealth at the local level. It
contributes enormously to production, export, job creation and gross domestic
product. Women are a catalyst for the country's economic development. In
traditional societies, the potential and immense power of women due to their
limitations at home has not been recognized and adequately used. As the times
change, women come out of these difficult positions to participate in
entrepreneurship as their profession. Now the decision makers have recognized the
production potential of women and their economic importance, which is reflected in
an increase in the gross domestic product. The contribution made by women in the
MSMEs sector cannot be ignored. especially in rural areas, where the rural economy
has been strengthened through job creation in micro, small and medium-sized units.
However, the growth of women's entrepreneurship has been slow due to practical
problems and social attitudes. This paper focuses on women's empowerment and the
role of the MSMEs perspective in India, and also explores MSMEs growth, barriers
to women entrepreneurs and government initiatives for growth and Women
empowerment development through entrepreneurship. Finally, suggestions will be
specified for obliterating the hindrances and creating better environment for
women empowerment through entrepreneurship. |
