dc.description.abstract Entrepreneurial activity creates growth and prosperity and even solutions to the social problems. In Future, women will be driving force for entrepreneurial growth. Many Factors like globalization, women education, urbanization, and increase in technical know-how have changed the concept for entrepreneurship as male-dominated. Women entrepreneurs are proving themselves to be most inspiring in developed as well as developing countries. Willingness of women to enter into trade and commerce and engineering business instead of just selected profession is increasing. If proper entrepreneurial education, skills and guidance given to women entrepreneurs they can contribute at large to the Nation’s Growth and Development. Women Entrepreneur can make strong contribution in educating, economic well-being and development of families and their by society. Women Entrepreneur has potential to change the small and medium scale industries of the world. Women Entrepreneurs are the one who have chosen to follow less-travelled roads and make all the difference.The present paper endeavors to study women entrepreneurship in Developing Countries, Traits of Entrepreneurship in women, Opportunities and Challenges of Women Entrepreneurship, Schemes for Encouraging Women Entrepreneurship in Developing Countries like India.The paper also highlights the equality gap that women entrepreneurs are still facing at the start-up phase and the other hurdles in the entrepreneurial journey that demotivates the women entrepreneurs derived from a survey done on female students of Entrepreneurship and Developmental Studies. en_US
