Abstract:
The paper deals with the emergence of digital technology and its application in entrepreneurial success. More specifically the paper discusses about use of digital technology removing barriers in the way of Women entrepreneurs more specifically in emerging economies. Women are surrounded by multiple socio- cultural barriers which hampers the growth of Women led entrepreneurial venture. It further reduces the opportunities for Women entrepreneurs who contributed around 14 percent in entrepreneurial pie of India (IMF, 2019). Through a literature survey this research identified the socio-economic barriers for Women entrepreneurs. Also it examined the validity of digital technologies which may help women entrepreneurs to grow and establish their venture. While evaluating the current entrepreneurial scenario in India more than 90 percent of women led business are microenterprises. Therefore, how digital technology may help to scale up the business is also a concern of this study. Understanding knowledge gap and providing skills to strengthen digital competencies of Women entrepreneurs is also discussed at the end of this article. The conceptual study also suggests a framework for adoption of digital technology to support women entrepreneurship.
